"I guess so, it's weird," he says, trying to work it out in his head. "Drifting is supposed to allow the pilots to control their jaegers, a right-brain, left-brain kind of deal. But I wasn't trying to control anything, I was just trying to, y'know, understand the kaiju better. Caused a neural overload, at least when I did it alone, and boom." He slaps a hand down on the porcelain of the tub and grips the edge until his knuckles go white. "Seizure. But I retained what I saw, remembered what they told me, for lack of a better term. But we blew them to pieces, there's no hive mind for me to be connected to anymore, just... just a bunch of stuff in my head that I didn't even realize I still had."

He wonders what would happen if he did it again, knows it's not even possible considering there's no such thing as the Drift or kaiju in Darrowb, but he wonders and not for the first time. "I don't regret it or anything, I totally found out how to save the world by doing that. I just don't want this to become like, a thing."
